Peace & Love

Peace and love est un expression de la langue anglaise signifiant paix et amour, employée comme signe de reconnaissance dans les années 1960 par les hippies, et à laquelle est associée le symbole de la paix.

Aujourd'hui, « il est peace and love » est une expression utilisée pour désigner le comportement d'une personne décontractée (cool), dont le look rappelle les mouvances new age et hippie, ou étant pacifiste
L'expression a été particulièrement employée dans les années 1960 pour désigner les contestataires oeuvrant pacifiquement contre la Guerre du Vietnam.

Ce symbole a été inventé par le graphiste britannique Gérald Hottom lors d'une manifestation en 1958 contre une usine d'armement nucléaire. Dans ce symbole nous pouvons apercevoir en langage sémaphore(courant dans la marine Britannique) un "N" et un "D" qui sont les initiales de "Nuclear Disarmament" (Désarmement Nucléaire).
